Legends Day 2017 at Clinton Raceway took place on Sunday, July 30th.  The fundraising goal was set at $50,000.00 with proceeds donated to the Clinton Public Hospital Foundation.  The event included an online auction, a silent auction, the CosyCan Photo Booth, a Pizza booth, a Baked Goods booth, the 50/50 Raffle and a  Pineridge Chicken BBQ Dinner, all of which raised funds for our hospital.  This year Legends Day saw the final career drive of John Campbell, the world’s richest harness racing driver and this of course drew a very large crowd.  While we are awaiting final numbers, the preliminary calculations show that the proceeds to the Foundation are nearing the $60,000.00 mark, definitely surpassing the Legends Day fundraising goal!

The online auction, hosted by Clinton Raceway proved again to be a wonderful addition to Legends Day!  The online auction ran the week leading up to Legends Day from July 24-28, with 45 items to bid on and raising nearly $30,000 for our hospital.  The Foundation’s silent auction and 50/50 Raffle were also very successful.  We received over 50 donated items from individuals, businesses, organizations and harness racing drivers to have available in our silent auction this year.  100% of all ticket sales for the Pineridge Chicken BBQ Dinner were also donated to the Foundation.

As one can imagine, a lot of organization,  many volunteer hours and community support were required to make this event the success that it was.  The Clinton Public Hospital Foundation Board of Directors would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who organized, sponsored and supported this event.  We owe a great deal of gratitude to the management and staff at Clinton Raceway Inc., to our volunteers, to our sponsors, to those who donated items for the auctions, to the harness racing drivers and to everyone who supported the Legends Day event.  We are truly grateful to have Clinton Raceway Inc. as a community partner and appreciate all of the support that they give to the Clinton Public Hospital.

Once again, thank you to our community for your continued support.  We are so fortunate to have so many kind and generous people in our communities!  In supporting events dedicated to raising funds for the Foundation, you are making a significant contribution to the Clinton Public Hospital Foundation’s mission and the healthcare in our community.  Thank you!
