As we reflect on our recent holiday campaign, Your Generosity Lights the Way, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible support shown by our community. Thanks to your kindness and generosity, we have raised nearly $60,000 to date; an inspiring reminder of what’s possible when our community comes together in support of local healthcare.
Every gift, large or small, helps strengthen care close to home. This year, holiday campaign funds are being directed toward the purchase of new Endoscopy Reprocessors for the Operating Room at Clinton Public Hospital. This equipment is vital to the continued success of our endoscopy program.
Supporting Early Detection & Life-Saving Care
Colon cancer is the fourth most commonly diagnosed cancer in Ontario, and when detected early, 9 out of 10 people can be successfully treated and cured. Early detection through regular screening is key to saving lives.
Procedures such as colonoscopies and gastroscopies allow physicians to detect, diagnose, and even prevent serious digestive conditions including colon cancer, ulcers, inflammation, and internal bleeding.
At Clinton Public Hospital, our busy endoscopy program serves patients from across Huron County, performing nearly 1,000 procedures in the 2024–25 fiscal year alone. Having access to these services locally means patients receive timely, expert care close to home; reducing travel, stress, and wait times while improving health outcomes.
Why Endoscopy Reprocessors Matter
To ensure every endoscopy procedure is performed safely, the hospital relies on Steris System 1 Endoscopy Reprocessors. These specialized, medical-grade units are used to clean and disinfect each reusable scope after every procedure, helping prevent infection and allowing the Operating Room to function efficiently and safely.
The Clinton Public Hospital Foundation is raising $68,000 to purchase two new endoscopy reprocessors. Funds raised through the holiday campaign, along with a $2,000 grant from the Huron Entrepreneur Fund, will directly support the purchase of this essential equipment; helping sustain high-quality, safe, and life-saving endoscopy services for patients throughout our region.
