The Healthcare Challenge We Face
While Government funding is provided for the operational costs of hospitals in Ontario, the Ministry of Health does not provide funding for equipment and upgrades to infrastructure. The Clinton Public Hospital relies on the commitment of the Foundation and the generosity of our community for such purchases.
There are additional challenges that rural hospitals face in terms of staffing. Physician Recruitment is an area the Foundation has been able to support by providing financial incentives to new doctors. With the help of community members, we also have a Staff Education Fund that was established by Gord Lavis in an attempt to help our nurses and staff feel supported, in hopes they will stay at our hospital.

Thanks to your donations, the Foundation helps fund critical equipment across all hospital departments, ensuring our hospital stays strong and that high-quality care remains available, close to home.
Did you know that Clinton Public Hospital is the only hospital in Huron and Perth where cataract surgery is performed? Serving as the regional center for cataract procedures, CPH also offers a wide range of other surgical services, including endoscopic, urologic, and plastic surgeries.
Our 21-bed inpatient unit provides care for patients with acute and complex continuing care needs, and also supports individuals requiring palliative care.
Each year, thousands of patients rely on Clinton Public Hospital for essential diagnostic services such as ultrasound, X-ray, bone density testing, and lab work.
We also host several outpatient clinics that are offered weekly or monthly, in specialties including: allergy, gynecology, general surgery, internal medicine, plastic surgery, and urology.
Clinton Public Hospital is one of two hospitals in Huron Perth to offer a hospital-based outpatient physiotherapy program. We’re also proud to care for out-of-county patients recovering from hip and knee replacements when they’re staying locally with family.

The Impact of Your Donations
Since 2014, your donations and support have allowed the Foundation to fund over 4 million dollars worth of equipment for the Clinton Public Hospital.
Operating Room Lights
The operating room lights received an update in 2023/24. Surgeons are always impressed with how up-to-date the operating rooms are at CPH.
Ultrasound Unit
This new ultrasound unit was funded in 2022/23. You can see the old one beside it, and how this new one is a major upgrade! Imaging staff are grateful.
Cataract Surgery Kits
CPH performs close to 1000 cataract procedures each year, and this number is growing. These new cataract surgery kits were funded in 2023/24.
